The University of Oxford has published a vacancy for a Senior Research Associate position in Flood Prediction. The postholder will be responsible for developing a seamless, data-driven predictive system to quantify changing flood properties from the past through to the future, using a range of climate model outputs and other predictors. They will be responsible for leading and co-authoring papers and presenting the research internationally.
A relevant PhD/DPhil, together with post-qualification research experience in predictive modelling, machine learning, statistics, hydrology, or climatology is essential, along with a strong publication record and familiarity with the existing literature and research in the field. The successful candidate will also possess strong coding skills in R or Python (not Matlab) with experience developing predictive models. An ability to manage academic research, budget and associated activities and excellent oral and written communication skills are also essential.
